Ich Bin Kentishtowner: Scottee, Performer, 27

Scottee is a 27-year-old performer, broadcaster, director and writer from Kentish Town. He has thrown cake at Rihanna on the X Factor in a performance he devised for her ‘Only Girl In the World’ performance, spat milkshake at Nick Grimshaw live on Radio 1, and sung a duet with Lisa Stansfield at a beauty pageant for fat people. The award-winning performance artist and glorified drag queen returns to the Roundhouse with a special festive variety show Camp (As Christmas) from 13-22 December.

When were you happiest?
Roaming the streets of Kentish Town wearing my first pair of ‘alternative’ trousers. I lost alot of friends but gained street cred.

Where would you like to live?
Belsize Park – its like the castle on the hill for those of us from Kentish Town West. It’s posh, it sort of means you’ve made it.

What is your greatest life achievement?
Surviving.

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
‘Not to cry over spilt milk cause it’s not as bad as an unhappy marriage’ – my nan.

What is your earliest memory?
Sitting on top of my dad’s shoulders outside Prince of Wales Road swimming pool and eating ice cream. Not much has changed.

So nice he name-checks it twice: leafy Belsize Park
What makes you unhappy?
Lies and when Pret A Manager give me ham croissants instead of cheese – this happens alot and I’m a vegetarian!

What simple thing would improve your quality of life?
A house in Belsize Park – please.

What is your most unappealing habit?
Brashness – I’m not one for biting my lip.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Charity Shopping! I spent far too much time rummaging through dead people’s things.

Made In Camden
Where do you hang out?
Made in Camden, Camden Kitchen and The Forge – all foodie hangouts. Love the milk-based cocktails at 55’s too.

Who or what do you hate and why?
David Cameron – lots of reasons but his latest This Morning appearance is one.

What was your best and worst experience in NW5?
Worst: getting mugged for my Nokia brick phone when I was 15. Best: the boys mugging me realizing my best friend was the local hard nut so they gave me back my phone.

What do you most dislike about your appearance?
My eyelashes are not like the ones I stick on.

What has your career taught you?
That ultimately I’m just a glorified show off.
